3rd day

got a flash short talk at Pevensey. It was awesome and really really great!

check out the profile of the company here! The guy called Seb, managed to program the snow in flash in 15 minutes.. and it was really2 great

I had a discussion with Graham at 4.30pm and it was really motivating.. he helps to explain the areas that I could venture into.. Children, Multimedia, Interactive TV and Accessibility...

I wasn't quite sure of the meanings: ACCESSIBILITY in the beginning.. and Graham helped to explain it further. Now, I understood it better. It is actually meant for disable. I like the idea of doing something on Interactive TV. I found a paper on Touch TV and they explained about their study on children. however, further research need to be done as this field is very very new and we are moving towards the future.

Graham said:
1. not to worry if you are still blur about what to do. : I actually know what i like, but having given the new idea on interactive TV, i would like to look into this matter further.
2. Conferences coming up!

• EUROITV 2008 : July 2-4 2008 Salzburg, Austria.
  
• IDC2008 : June 11-13 2008 Chicago, US.
• British HCI2008: September 1-5 2008 Liverpool, UK.
• CHI is the most prestigious one: Graham told me, if accepted to CHI, means that your research is really really really great!!!
  

3. Read as much as you can. And for each journal, write a summary on it and must be able to be very analytical in terms of criticising what need to be done further and what is lacking with what has been done! As this will be something that you might have to look at for your research!

4. Graham also mentioned about writing books. Put this at the back of my head.. you might want to think about this. make your thesis available in a more friendly-writing-book.

5. I might want to write papers.. he gave me tips about writing a summary of 20 journals that I have read. Publishers might be interested in this and some might be looking for one. Instead of having to read 20 journals, one might want to refer to only 1 paper, a summary of all.

In my Office:
1. I did some research on papers and journals, able to print them and need to read them and summaries...
2. I found only 3 books on ITV in the library... : However, graham said to not only focus on books, but look more on journals.. he gave me the best link to the best journal that contains such info: UAIS.
3. I looked at any available conferences that I might be interested to go too.

I guess thats it.
